Lady Hawks come out of tough dual as a two-time winner

Hiland took on a couple of strong local volleyball programs on Saturday, Aug. 25 and came away on the positive side of both contests.

Hiland, which improved to 3-0, dropped Smithville in three game 25-21, 15-25, 25-23 as they held on to knock off the Smithies in a nail-biter in the final game.

In the contest Madisynn Bryk drilled 10 kills, Kim Miller doled out 22 assists, Madison Yoder recorded 15 digs, Gingerich notched six service points, and Miller and Bryk both recorded three blocks for the winners.

Hiland had a challenge but made things easier in the nightcap when they downed host Kidron Central Christian 25-16, 25-17.

Mya Blochlinger and Liz Keim both hammered home six kills to lead the offense while Miller tacked on 12 assists. Miller added eight digs and seven service points, and Amanda Troyer added seven service points and two aces.
