Knights drop a regular season game on the road at Ashland

In regular season action the Knights traveled to Ashland on May 13 to sneak in a Ohio Cardinal Conference game while they prepare for their district semi-final against New Philly on May 16.

They outcome was a 10-inning pitcher’s duel that saw the game go to extra frames after a 1-1 tie through seven innings. The Arrows plated a run in the top of the tenth to take a 2-1 lead and then shut down the Knights in the bottom of the tenth to hang on for the win.

West Holmes seniors Trevor Kiner and A.J. Race each had two hits. The Knights are now 8-13 on the season, but remain alive in the Div. II district tournament. In the OCC West Holmes has a 6-7 record.

Ashland gets just its fourth win of the season and move to 4-14-1 overall and 4-9 in the OCC.
