Wilkshire Golf Course in Bolivar, Ohio was the site of this year’s Inter-Valley Conference (IVC) post-season golf tournament. Coming into the clubhouse with the winning score were the Strasburg Tigers who capped off their undefeated regular season with a first place finish in the post-season IVC tourney.
The Tigers fired a conference-best 312 on Sept. 22 to earn the tournament victory beating out the Garaway Pirates who came in second with a team score of 321. In third place was Ridgewood with a score of 333 and rounding out the top four were the Hiland Hawks who shot a 355.
Garaway’s Brevin Weaver took medalist honors as the senior went and had himself a day firing a 75 at Wilkshire. However, it was the Tigers that would take the team title behind a pair of 77s from Dylan Tucker and Mitch Neidenthal. Mitch’s twin brother Mike Neidenthal helped the Tigers with an 81 and Gino Schupbach rounded out the winning card for the Tigers with a score of 83.
With Weaver’s 75, the Pirates turned in scores of 78, 84 and 84. Ben Koshmider carded the 78 and Michael Yoder and Colton Fender each shot 84.
For the Hawks Bruce Yoder led the way with an 82, Dylan Kaufman shot an 83, Tremper Coblentz carded an 85 and Johnny Mullet came in with an 86 for a well-rounded scoring day for the Hawks.
