Hummel’s ace a highlight of First National Bank Jr. Golf Tour

Brookston Hummel picks his hole-in-one out of the hole at River Greens

The First National Bank Jr. Golf Tour has provided plenty of great competition for the many high and middle school players in the area. And while some have risen to the top to claim titles at courses all over Tuscarawas County, one young player will remember his trek to River Greens Golf Course for a long, long time.

While Rendall Weaver took home the top prize in the boys age 13-15 division, it was runner-up Brookston Hummel who provided some extra pizzazz to the day when he aced the 22nd hole on the 27-hole course near West Lafayette.

The hole-in-one, which is one of every golfer’s ultimate dreams, was during the tour on June 21 and helped Hummel finish second, one shot back of Weaver.

Hummel, a freshman, will be vying for one of three varsity spots this fall that were vacated by graduation at Hiland High School.
