The Lady Pirates persevered a number of harrowingly close calls, had to come back from what looked like certain defeat against Katie Ellzy, one of the top Div. III pitchers in the state, got the better end of a controversial call in the 12th inning and because of their grit and determination, lived to play again with an improbable 5-3 win that ended with a home run.
Lexi Lingler delivered a massive home run to center-field, to give Garaway a lead it would not relinquish in the top of the 13th. (video)
