Vinny DeFelice didn’t have much of a problem wading through the sea of runners at the annual Tiffin Cross Country Invitational Saturday, Sept. 6. Neither did Michelle Hostettler.
The two super sophs had a super day at one of the largest cross country gatherings in the state, and the West Holmes team members had an overall exceptional day overall, with almost every runner recording their best time of the season, and many others adding to that career PRs.
The Lady Knights finished 24th in the 34 field team.
Hostettler again paced the Lady Knights, finishing in 19:45, good for 17th place out of 226 runners in Div. II.
She was followed by Amber Murphy with a time of 22:50. Rounding out the girls finishes were Hannah Clark (24:28)
Kaylor Perone (24:44), Carie Fair (24:53), Madison Sprang (25:56) and Reagan Welsh (26:06).
For the Knights, who came in 22nd out of 46 teams, the order was nearly identical to the finished in the past meet.
Vinny DeFelice ran strong again, placing 20th overall in the 315 member field, running a blistering time of 16:30.
Mark Raber was next in line, coming home in a time of 18:07, followed very closely by Philip Schaffter, who rolled in at 18:20, and Teddy Oliver, who was nipping at Schaffter’s heels in 18:24.
Rounding out the Knights effort were Danny Drummond (18:42), Josh Weigand (19:05) and Ethan Meyer (19:31).
