The 19th annual Aimee Frenette-Rickly Golf Tournament will be held on Sunday, June 24 at Fire Ridge Golf Course in Millersburg. Golfers are required to sign up prior to the event. Interested individuals may register at the Fire Ridge Golf Course, Killbuck VFW or by contacting tournament coordinator Larry Frenette via Facebook. Businesses seeking to provide a $100 golf hole sponsorship also may email Larry Frenette at email@example.com. Check-in will be between 8 and 8:45 a.m. with a tee-off time of 9 a.m. The event will raise funds for the Aimee Frenette-Rickly Memorial Scholarship fund, which is held and managed by the Holmes County Education Foundation.
Cost per golfer is $55 for non-pass holders and $40 for season pass holders. Checks should be made payable to HCEF, or cash preferred payment method should be used. This includes 18 holes, cart, lunch and dinner. There also will be opportunities to purchase skins, mulligans, raffle tickets and 50/50 tickets.
Aimee Frenette-Rickly attended West Holmes High School, where she was actively involved in softball, volleyball, National Honor Society, student council and 4-H. She graduated in 1994 and went on to study family and consumer science education at Ohio University, graduating in 1998. Following graduation, she student taught in both the East and West Holmes school districts. She also served as assistant softball coach for West Holmes High School. Aimee passed away in 1999. This year’s recipient of the Aimee Frenette-Rickly Memorial Scholarship is Natalie Martin, who will be studying education at the University of Mount Union.
